1 kDIEM is always backed by exactly 1 DIEM. Guaranteed, both ways, forever. It never appreciates, on purpose - the DIEM behind it is staked, and the inference it produces goes to the agents. Redeeming has two doors: instant through the Buffer, up to its whole balance - anything larger joins the queue, and a nightly pass funds it - two nights at most, one more if a pass halts.
